Comments with #: switch off a line without deleting it

Every morning Rina's program shows the notes for the kitchen whiteboard. Today Mrs. Sari has cancelled the 50% discount promo, but it may come back next week. Dimas suggests: "Don't delete the line, turn it into a comment so it is easy to switch back on." He also tells Rina to get into the habit of writing notes in her code, so other people (and Rina herself next month) understand what the program is for.

Task

Turn the promo print line into a comment so it does not run (do not delete it), then add one comment line at the very top that explains what the program does. The output must be exactly these 3 lines:
Kitchen notes for today
Catering orders: 3
Courier: Yoga

Hint 1
In Python, everything after a hash sign # up to the end of the line is a comment: a note for humans that Python ignores.
Hint 2
To switch off a line of code, just put # in front of it. The line stays visible in the editor, but it does not run.
Hint 3
Put # at the start of the promo line. For the comment at the top, add a new line that starts with #, for example # Daily notes for the kitchen board.

Reveal them one at a time. The last hint nearly gives the answer away.

Give it a try first. The solution unlocks automatically after your first check.

Answer

# Daily notes for the kitchen whiteboard
print("Kitchen notes for today")
print("Catering orders: 3")
# print("Promo: 50% off all dishes") # promo postponed to next week
print("Courier: Yoga")

Explanation

The # sign makes Python ignore the rest of that line. The promo line is still in the code, so next week Rina only has to remove the # to switch the promo back on. Switching code off for a while without losing it is one of the most common uses of comments.
Comments are also used to explain code:

A full-line comment, for example # Daily notes for the kitchen board.
A comment at the end of a line of code, for example print("Courier: Yoga") # Yoga delivers today. Get used to putting two spaces before the #.

Common mistakes:

Putting # inside quotes, for example print("# Promo"). Inside a string, # is just an ordinary character, so it is still printed.
Writing comments that only repeat the code, such as # print courier. A useful comment explains the reason, for example "promo postponed to next week".

Tip: in code editors such as VS Code, Ctrl+/ (Cmd+/ on a Mac) adds or removes # on the selected lines.

Python· main.py

print("Catering orders: 3")
