Exam mode (simulation)

Real exam look & rules: a running timer, Mark for review, a Review screen, case studies and sections you cannot return to. Score & explanations at the end, scaled to 1000 (pass 700).

Package

Tip: set aside 100 uninterrupted minutes. Progress is saved automatically if the page closes, but the timer keeps running like the real exam.

The real PL-300 exam format

  • 100 minutes

Answering time. About 120 minutes in the seat in total (agreement, survey, instructions).

  • 40-60 questions

The count varies per candidate. Expect a case study and a series of repeated-scenario questions.

  • Pass 700 / 1000

A scaled score, not a percentage. Wrong answers are not penalized: answer every question.

  • Open book: Microsoft Learn

During the exam you can open Microsoft Learn from a button on the exam screen, but the timer keeps running. Use it only to confirm details.

  • English

Offered in several languages, but not Indonesian. That is why every question here is in English.

  • Valid for 1 year

Renew for free with an online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn before it expires.

Question types you will meet (all included here)

  • Multiple choiceOne correct answer from 4 to 6 options.
  • Multiple answers"Choose two / three". Each correct selection is worth one point.
  • Yes / NoSeveral statements, each answered Yes or No.
  • Build a sequenceMove the right actions into the Answer Area and order them. Some actions are distractors.
  • Dropdown (hot area)Complete DAX / Power Query code or a sentence with dropdowns.
  • MatchMatch requirements to the right feature or visual.
  • Case studyA long company scenario with tabs (Overview, Requirements, …) followed by 4 to 8 questions. Once you finish the section you cannot go back.
  • Repeated scenario"Does this meet the goal?" The same scenario with a different solution each time. Answered questions cannot be reopened.

4-week study plan

  1. Week 1

    Prepare the data

Power Query: data sources, profiling, merge / append, unpivot.

  2. Week 2

    Model the data

Star schema, relationships, date table, CALCULATE, time intelligence.

  3. Week 3

    Visualize & analyze

Choosing visuals, bookmarks, drillthrough, tooltips, AI visuals, Copilot.

  4. Week 4

Manage & secure + mock exams

Workspaces, apps, gateways, refresh, RLS. Then 2 to 3 full simulations until you score above 800 consistently.

Exam-day strategy

  • Manage your time

±100 minutes for ±50 questions = 2 minutes each. Unsure? Pick your best answer, tick Mark for review, move on.

  • Case study: read the question first

Open the question, then look up the facts you need in the Requirements tab. No need to memorize the whole scenario.

  • Spot the constraint keywords

"minimize development effort", "least privilege", "minimize model size" decide which answer is BEST when several would work.

  • Answer everything

There is no penalty. A blank answer is always 0, a guess still has a chance.

FAQ

How long is the PL-300 exam and how many questions are there?

100 minutes of answering time (about 120 minutes in the seat) for 40-60 questions, possibly including a case study and repeated-scenario questions.

What is the PL-300 passing score?

700 on a scale of 1 to 1000. It is a scaled score, so it is not the same as 70% correct. This simulation uses a proportional scale as an estimate.

Are these the same questions as the real exam?

No. Every question is written from scratch following the official skills measured, with the same question types and wording style. The goal is understanding, not memorizing.

Is PL-300 offered in Indonesian?

No. The exam is offered in several languages (including English), but not Indonesian. That is why the questions here are in English with explanations in Indonesian.

How much does the PL-300 exam cost?

Microsoft sets the price per country and it can change. Check the current price for your country on the official certification page when you schedule.

How long is the PL-300 certification valid?

One year. Renew it for free with an online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn (opens 6 months before it expires).
