Create the five relationships

Open Power Pivot, switch to Diagram View, then drag key columns to connect Expense and Budget to their lookup tables.

All five tables are in the Data Model, but they don’t know each other yet: Expense only knows the code D04, not that D04 means Marketing. A relationship is a line between tables that replaces VLOOKUP: no helper columns and no #N/A. In this lesson you arrange the five tables into a star shape and draw the five lines that connect them.
