Calculated column: total paid by the buyer

Ayu, the online shop's finance admin, matches bank statements with orders. The money received from a buyer is the item value plus shipping, but the Amount column in the Orders table does not include shipping yet.

Task

Create the calculated column TotalPaid in the Orders table that holds Orders[Amount] plus Orders[ShippingCost] for every order row.

Explanation

In a calculated column, Orders[Amount] + Orders[ShippingCost] reads as "the Amount and ShippingCost of this row". DAX computes it once when the data is loaded (refresh) and stores the result in every row, so the column can be used in slicers, on visual rows, or summed with SUM.
A common mistake is SUM ( Orders[Amount] ) + SUM ( Orders[ShippingCost] ). A calculated column has no filters from a visual, so every row would hold the total of the whole table. Pro tip: if you only need this number as a total in a report, a measure with SUMX (see the Iterators category) uses less memory than adding a column.
