Connect to your first data source

Load the practice Excel file with Get data.

  1. Step 1: On the Home ribbon, click Get data → Excel workbook.

  2. Step 2: Browse to the practice file insyntive-sales-sample.xlsx you downloaded and select it.

  3. Step 3: In the Navigator, tick the Sales table and watch the preview on the right.

  4. Step 4: Click Transform data to clean it first (recommended), not Load.

    Watch out: Clicking Load loads the data as-is. Almost always open Transform data first — you’ll see why in Module 2.
