Build your first chart

Drag two fields and make a bar chart in 30 seconds.

  1. Step 1: From the Data pane, drag the Product field onto the canvas — Power BI makes a table.

  2. Step 2: In the Visualizations pane, click the Clustered bar chart icon to switch type.

  3. Step 3: Drag Revenue into the X-axis well so the bars get values.

  4. Step 4: Open the Format tab (the paint roller icon in the Visualizations pane) and give the chart a clear title.

    Tip: Sort the bars: click … (More options) on the visual → Sort axis → Revenue, then choose Sort descending.
