NETWORKDAYS: working days in a project

Rina, a project manager at a software house in Bandung, is working out her team's capacity for several projects. Only Monday-to-Friday working days count, and the holidays in the list on the right are excluded too.

Task

Fill D2:D5 with the number of working days from the start date (column B) to the end date (column C), including both dates, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and the holidays in G2:G4. Use NETWORKDAYS.

Hint 1
NETWORKDAYS(start_date, end_date, [holidays]) skips Saturdays and Sundays automatically and counts both the start and the end date.
Hint 2
The third argument is the range of holiday dates. Lock it as $G$2:$G$4 so it does not move when the formula is copied down.

Explanation

=NETWORKDAYS(B2,C2,$G$2:$G$4) counts Monday to Friday between two dates, then subtracts holidays that fall on a working day. The POS app project runs 4 full weeks (20 working days), minus the August 17 holiday, which leaves 19. A frequent mistake is forgetting to lock the holiday range, so lower rows point at empty cells. If your weekly days off are not Saturday and Sunday, use NETWORKDAYS.INTL.
